Dear Jay, et al, There was a separate "chat room" where bluebirders
could talk directly to each other. It was:
Bluebird Chat Room http://bluebird-l.tripod.com
Sunday: 5-10 pm EDT = Main Chat
Monday: 8-10 pm EDT
Tuesday: 8-10 pm EDT
Wednesday: 8-10 pm EDT
Thursday: 8-10 pm EDT

Does anyone know if the Bluebird-l Chat room is still open - is it
in use by anyone? I am trying to revise the REF GUIDE, so this info
will help a great deal. Thanks, H

Has anyone tried the Bluebird-L Chat Room? I don't like Chat Rooms, so I
wouldn't know if it works.

Evelyn and all.....Yes I just now tried it out at 9:57pm and I was all alone
in there so I just talked with myself for awhile and got bored. So I just
stayed about one minute or so. But it seemed to work just fine. It said
something about MSN and downloaded something to my computer when I answered
it's question whether or not I trusted them. I just noted in this small post I
have used the word just 5 times including this time. I should be using
Justice--that is a very popular word now. Anyway, Evelyn thanks for the tip on
the chat room. I have heard that many people don't like chat rooms for some
reason. I don't know why--they must have had bad experiences or met "friendly"
people who were rude and crude I suppose. Like everything else I rarely have met
a man I didn't like----Oh excuse me I should not steal quotes like that I
suppose. But I forgot who said it, may have been my distant relative once
removed Mark Twain. Probably was Will Rogers though.Wendell

The topic of a bluebird chat is alive once again on Bluebird-L, as an option
the new bluebirdtrail yahoo group does have the option of setting up a chat. For
more information see http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bluebirdtrail and select the
chat option. Yes you will have to install software but it would be a good way of
having a chat if that is desired.
I'm not really into chats myself but for those that are this seems to be a
very good option.

Thanks, Jim, for pointing this out. I have not used the Yahoo chat feature
myself, but the folks on the bird watching forum (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/thebirdwatchingforum)
seem to be having fun with it.
You do have to be a member of the bluebirdtrail group in order to use the chat
feature; let me know if you need help or have questions about subscribing. For
those who have subscribed, let me thank you and
apologize for the dearth of activity on the list. The fact that it's the off
season and the fact that it's a new forum are, I think, conspiring to make
things very quiet there so far. I'm confident that as new people join and
members become comfortable with the new format, things will pick up. Perhaps a
few online chats would help as well!
