To some people who haven't seen their Bluebirds in a while or think they're not around.....

Sometimes there may be lengthy periods of time when we won't see the Bluebird, i.e. during partial migration or at other times say right after nesting. One thing I've worked on... was to learn as many calls & songs of my neighborhood birds as I could, using recorded sounds & calls from various CD's that I have. (I know that the Best of Bluebird also has these available.) I think I know all of the EABL's calls, songs, & sounds. When I'm walking around the neighborhood, many, many times I don't see any Bluebirds or maybe haven't actually seen one anywhere around here for quite a while. But, I hear them, especially their contact calls & alarm calls, & this tells me they are around. Boy..this is very satisfying, & I'm suggesting this...to learn their calls if you really want to enjoy this & have some fun....Horace in NC.
